RTAC ANNUAL AWARDS

Annual awards, including Championship round medals, are presented at our end of season Presentation Day event.

Merit Awards

Merit awards are based on points awarded to each athlete for participation and improvement at weekly competition meets throughout the season.  Points are awarded to athletes based on the following achievements:

• each event attempted = 1 point;
• personal best equalled in any event = 1 point;
• persoanl best acheieved in any event = 2 points.
   

Awards are presented to the top three (3) athletes in each age group. Five (5) bonus points are awarded to athletes who compete at the Port Hunter Zone Combined Event.

Continuous Service Awards

Athletes who have completed 5 years continuous service are recognised with a Service Medal and at a Plaque at 10 years.  At each subsequent 5 years, athletes will be awarded a trophy or keepsake to commemorate these exceptional milestones.

Athletes need to compete in 60% of weekly competition meets throughout the season to be eligible for annual awards. Special circumstances can be considered.
